RAGE GROUND: 5:00 PM - 5:45 PM (http://rageground.com/) (Opens @4pm)
When I think of date night there’s only one thing that comes to mind, an opportunity to show how creative and spontaneous I can be. Growing up, my grandmother used to always say God gave us two ears and one mouth, to do more listening than talking. A good quality perhaps, considering my passion for giving and promoting smiles instead of frowns. My girlfriend and I have been working non stop, me being and entrepreneur and her being an entertainer, and this date night I wanted to release some tension, enjoy dinner with a great view and top it off with dancing our night away.
Have you ever heard of an Anger Room or a Rage Room? It’s a secure place where everyday folks can take out their anger and let it all out! And it’s in Downtown Los Angeles!
Don’t worry though, it’s perfectly safe. They provide full protective gear including coveralls, a face shield, gloves, vest, and hard hat (if asked for). They also provide weapons (sledgehammers, shovels, pipes, and etc.), and items to break. This was the perfect beginning for an eventful night. A date would appreciate something out of the box and a 15 minute search could produce a memorable outcome. Trust me. We had fun and for 25 minutes we got to destroy items from large to small. We were very pleased and this was a great choice as a start for the night. It was fun, out of the box and kinda took us back to our childhood except I broke things for free back then haha
TAKAMI SUSHI - 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM (www.takamisushi.com)
After breaking a sweat at Rage Ground you may want to freshen up to prepare for the rest of the night. Valet at Takami isn’t bad ($8) and the restaurant sits twenty one floors above Downtowns financial district and known to serve the highest quality Sushi, Robata, and Japanese-influenced entrees. It’s one of my favs and I frequent this hot spot at least once a month. The view is to die for and with plenty of options on the menu, it’ll challenge you to return and try another entrée. You can’t go wrong with the soft shell crab or oysters for an appetizer and this night we played it safe with grilled salmon, but the menu has a wide variety of choices and I’d definitely suggest the sushi rolls, robata or both! I absolutely love their drinks and although I love my scotch neat, I’m always tempted to surprise my palette with a wicked geisha or Tokyo mule.
LAS PERLAS: 9:15 PM - 12:00 AM (http://213hospitality.com/project/lasperlas)
By now your belly is full and the drinks are tempting you to have another lol, so why not head to Las Perlas for the rest of the night. I absolutely love this place and being the nations first mescal bar you will immediately feel comfy. The music performed by a live band from Thursday-Saturday will make you feel like you snuck into a concert. The vibes are welcoming and the staff will convince you to revisit over and over again. We danced the night away, had more drinks, met some awesome people and headed home around midnight. Not bad for a Thursday considering we started around 5pm! I just love Los Angeles and with the right resources, a group, couple or a single person can really take advantage of the many attractions in their city!
